Position Summary:

Working remotely from a home office, or from our corporate office in Baltimore, MD, the School Support Specialist, Operations serves as part of a school-support team dedicated to providing Connections Education school employees with exceptional onboarding, communications, support, and training.  All members of the School Support Team work collaboratively on developing, evaluating, and communicating initiatives and program changes that facilitate the ability of school-based employees to enhance the educational experience of students. The School Support Specialist, Operations adds to the team by leading and facilitating projects in three, key areas. Those areas are operational support services, demonstration accounts, and section management support. The Specialist is responsible for critical operational tasks such as, tracking and updating School Representative, Escalation, School-Year-Cycle Timeline Data Views and spreadsheets; responding to emails sent to the team regarding operational issues; assigning permissions within Connexus; and updating users’ WebMail boxes (e.g., access; descriptors).  For Demonstration accounts, the Specialist creates and facilitates the ongoing updating of student, Learning Coach, teacher, and staff demo accounts in Connexus® so that all employees can use those accounts to understand how our education management system works from those users’ perspectives The School Support Specialist is responsible for pulling, reviewing and summarizing weekly section data reports and providing assistance to our schools regarding section management (i.e., creating and/or deleting sections; updating section names; pulling section data reports for schools; The School Support Specialist, Operations will take on various other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director of School Support Operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support school and School Support colleagues in their operational work including but not limited to
  • pulling, reviewing, and summarizing weekly section data reports
  • providing assistance to our schools regarding section management
  • tracking and updating School Representative, Escalation, School-Year-Cycle Timeline Data Views and spreadsheets
  • assigning permissions within Connexus; and
  • updating users’ WebMail boxes
  • Create and maintain demonstration accounts annually for students, Learning Coach, teacher, and staff , ensuring they are up-to-date and accurately reflect program expectations;
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the School Support Team and with members of the schools, Curriculum and Instruction, Application Management, Development, MIS, and Operations Departments to support and reinforce overall team and company goals and initiatives
  • Work with and support the Assistant Director of School Support Operations to ensure student learning is fully supported, operational tasks progress fully and on time, and processes are continuously reevaluated for efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned, potentially including operational support for LiveLesson® using Adobe Connect.
  • Requirements
    • Degree in Education, Education Technology, or a related field preferred
    • Familiarity with the Connections Education EMS and Program preferred
    • Technologically proficient: strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables preferred
    • Commitment to student learning
    • Ability and interest in evolving and improving operational support processes
    • Prior experience with project management preferred
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
