Position Summary:

Working from their home office, the Director of Student Services, will oversee a portfolio of K-12 online programs and online educational services.  This person should be capable of emerging as a thought leader in the business processes and academic protocols that influence success of these cutting edge programs.  They need to be able to readily identify the key performance indicators to measure program success and implement continuous improvement strategies.

 

The Director will have responsibility and accountability for both the development of new programs, as well as the account management of existing programs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning / execution of a portfolio of programs for institutional/district/external customers; these programs provide online courses and online educational services to full time and part time students in various settings;
  • Business development among existing partners, including individual course sales, channel development, and alliances;
  • Provide support to the marketing and institutional, state relations and  sales teams in growth initiatives
  • Manage teams to include program manager and teacher staffing, training and performance monitoring; ensure intervention in the case of low student participation/performance;
  • Coordinate with purchasing district to ensure processes are defined for enrollment, progress reporting and student interventions;
  • Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure processes are in place for efficient enrollment and progress reporting of students;
  • Provide excellent customer service and initiate improvements to meet client needs
  • Ensure effective customer communication tools are in place to include student and mentor orientations and demonstrations, as well as status communications throughout the purchasing and enrollment process to include student progress reporting and renewals;
  • When indicated, ensure proper communication tools are in place for parent interface to include account access, orientations, and guides;
  • Interface with sales team to develop, implement and monitor pilot initiatives; and
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
  • Five years experience in project/program management required, seven+ preferred
  • Five plus years experience in education management 
  • Knowledge of and experience in virtual or blended schooling is desired
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment where skills are challenged

  • Experience setting and managing expectations, both internally and externally
  • Experience controlling project changes
