Working out of their home, the World Language Live Tutor will “virtually” manage a synchronous virtual classroom utilized by students from Pearson and Connections Academy schools. The World Language Live Tutor will be responsible for working with students
to develop understanding of the Spanish language using specifically designed activities. World Language Live Tutors will be responsible for monitoring student activity within the virtual classroom at all times, and providing support/feedback.
This part-time position is for the 2018-2019 school year and is a 10-month position. Tutors’ availability should be flexible and may work up to five (5) days per week, Monday- Friday; for 3 or more hours per day and for a minimal of 15 hours per week.
Possible shifts would fall within the following time frames: Monday through Thursday 3:00 pm. - 11:00 p.m. EST and Friday 1:00 pm. - 4:00 p.m. EST. Tutors will be working with students in the Elementary, Middle School and High School levels.
- Communicate with students through the use of LiveLesson®
- Monitor students’ language proficiency and vocabulary recognition throughout tutoring sessions
- Working in the LiveLesson® room, facilitate student completion of a series of pronunciation and vocabulary activities;
- Monitor student language proficiency while in tutoring sessions;
- Provide students with grade and feedback reflective of student progress;
- Assist students with minor technical issues;
- Work with Program Manager and tutors to develop consistency within LiveLessons®; and
- Other duties as assigned.
