The Global Business Development Associate will report to the SVP Global Strategy & Solutions.  There is an opportunity for the role to evolve as this person becomes more familiar with SIA internal practices and processes.

In this role, the individual focus is on driving Corporate Membership sales and managing Corporate Member relationships.

Responsibilities include:

Support Global Services/Client Services

  • Responsible for global corporate membership sales, renewals and retention via outbound telephone calls, email communication and follow up
  • Follow-up on sales leads from SIA events, webinars, conferences and inbound inquiries as assigned using a sales operations process that drives new sales
  • Work alongside existing Business Dev. Associate focusing on sales funnel, executing sales strategy for new sales and renewal strategy. Aligning metrics and meeting weekly to ensure meeting sales activity goals
  • Interface with member prospects and existing members during SIA conferences, telephone meetings and in-person meetings when possible alongside Director of Global Strategy & Solutions
  • As required, update NetSuite or database of record, Daily News updates and set up members with login credentials via ThinkCreative
  • Other duties as needed


  • Bachelor degree
  • 5+ years’ work experience in similar sales role following up on leads to drive new sales
  • Experience working in corporate membership and managing corporate membership relationships
  • Customer service experience, in person as well as over the phone
  • Ability to develop rapport and business relationships at all levels
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Time management skills & ability to meet deadlines
  • Adaptability, initiative and able to handle pressure
  • Good technical and presentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage timelines
  • Ability to offer ideas on process improvements and potential product offerings
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to travel to conferences and events as necessary


  • Prior staffing industry experience or working with/selling to the staffing industry desired
  • Working knowledge of MSOffice, NetSuite, EZPublish, Salesforce and Concur is desired
  • Background working in corporate membership sales, renewals and retention via outbound telephone calls and/or email
  • Background developing process improvements and potential product offerings
