 Eliot’s Adult Mental Health Division provides an integrated and comprehensive network of services to adults with psychiatric disabilities that promote consumer rights, responsibilities, rehabilitation, and recovery. We provide rehabilitative services that enable people to increase functioning in the living, working, and social environments of their choice.

Join a committed team of professionals in providing counseling and recovery services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses in our CBFS outreach program located in the Lynn area. 

 

Responsibilities:

Empower consumers to exercise autonomy in all aspects of their life. Assist consumers with identifying choices and developing skills in self advocacy.

Collaborate with other staff members to ensure that the consumer’s perspective is always included, that preferences are recognized and that consumer choices are maximized.

Provide training and consultation to staff to facilitate the understanding of consumer perspectives as needed.

Provide guidance to consumers in recovery process.

Provide advocacy, support, and education during intake and transition processes across the spectrum of services and transition to independence. Assist consumers with being able to identify personal methods of recovery from mental illness and to develop self management plans to address their experiences.

Promote hope and empowerment through meetings and support with consumers. Collaborate with the team to ensure that the consumer’s perspective is always included, that preferences are recognized and that consumer choices are maximized.

Participate in the development of IAP’s (Individualized Action Plans). Assist the consumer and the team in developing consumer centered plans. Assist and encourage consumers to participate in developing the treatment plan by assisting consumers in communicating their personal recovery goals.

Provide information and training on recovery tools and techniques, self-management strategies, and, if desired, assistance developing a self-management plan.

Assist consumers in being fully integrated in their communities by supporting them in the use of community resources, encouraging them in establishing memberships within their communities, and reducing stigma within the community through education.

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9am - 5 pm

Pay rate: $14.90/hour

Requirements

Must have at least two years of paid or volunteer experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness and a high school diploma/GED equivalent or must be a Certified Peer Specialist. May substitute one year of experience with a college degree in the human services field. Must be either receiving mental health services or received services in the past and have self-knowledge to manage their mental illness with and established recovery process. Must have a strong commitment to mental health recovery. Must have skills to establish supportive relationships with persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and respect for their preferences for treatment. Must have ability to provide flexible services that are community based and focused on team work. Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications.
