Job Description Summary

The office of PCAOB Board Member Kathleen Hamm has a part-time or full-time internship position available in its Washington, D.C. headquarters office. This key role provides support to Board Member Hamm and her professional staff by analyzing developments in the auditing profession and conducting research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and prepare memoranda on topics such as quality controls, enterprise risk management, cybersecurity, and the use of emerging technology to prepare or audit financial statements;
  • Stay informed of trends and current events relating to auditing policy and accounting;
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents;
  • Assist with research and the development of speech topics;
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy in all details; and
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
Requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate student pursuing a degree in accounting from an accredited university or college;
  • Proficiency in conducting research;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines;
  • Willingness to work as a team member; and
  • Ability to be flexible, work independently and be self-motivated.
