Job Description Summary

The PCAOB has a full-time regular position for a Senior Inspections Report Associate, in its Division of Registration and Inspections (“DRI”) at its Orange County, California regional office. This key role requires a proactive person that thrives in a multi-faceted, fast-paced, and professional environment.


  • Takes a proactive role in the review and editing of inspection reports using standard report templates, which includes interaction with the Non-affiliate Firm Coordinator (NAFC), National Office Reviewer, inspection team and other divisions;
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail during performance of assigned tasks and preparation and review of various inspection-related data;
  • Assists in the identification and resolution of inspection-related issues such as scheduling, planning, firm demographics, and analysis of information in various inspection databases;
  • Writes clear, concise and factual communications;
  • Prepares international weekly inspection tracking tools;
  • Assists with international inspections logistics (e.g., scheduling logistics, budget, travel and inspection planning);
  • Assists with various requests from DRI leadership, other Divisions and Board members;
  • Demonstrates flexibility, agility, and the ability to manage competing priorities;
  • Interacts with PCAOB staff regarding analysis of report findings and other information for use in economic research and risk analysis; and
  • Maintaining standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents.        


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education in a related field or demonstrated work experience;
  • At least three years of experience with a corporation, government agency, regulatory body or law firm required; 
  • A basic knowledge of auditing/accounting terminology is a plus;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Internet, and Outlook applications;
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and articulately, in a constructive manner (both orally and in writing) and listens to and considers the ideas and views of others;
  • Ability to carry out job responsibilities on a timely basis while demonstrating thoughtfulness, creativity, and good judgment in solving problems;
  • Assumes full control of responsibilities and sees them through to completion;
  • Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail during performance of assigned tasks and review of various inspection-related data;
  • Demonstrates flexibility, agility, and the ability to manage competing priorities, while working in a fast paced environment;
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and prioritization skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team;
  • Works cooperatively with others to accomplish team goals;
  • Enjoys working in a fast paced environment; and
  • Ability to travel, if required.
