Job Description

The office of PCAOB Board Member, J. Robert Brown, Jr., has a full-time internship position available in its Washington, DC headquarters office.  This key role provides support to Board Member, J. Robert Brown, Jr. and his professional staff by analyzing financial disclosures and conducting accounting research.


  • Conduct research and prepare memorandums, in particular, on the use and disclosure of non-GAAP measures using all available services (e.g. subscription database services, internet resources, and other resources that may be available) as well as through consultations with staff in other offices or divisions;
  • Stay informed of trends and current events relating to auditing policy and accounting;
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents;
  • Ensure high level of accuracy in all details; and
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.


  • Undergraduate in senior year of college or Graduate student pursuing degree in accounting, economics, finance or law from an accredited university or college;
  • For graduate students in economics, finance or law school, must have some accounting background and understanding of GAAP;
  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications
  • Proficiency in conducting research with databases such as LexisNexis® or EDGAR®
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines;
  • Willingness to work as a team member;
  • Ability to be flexible, work independently and be self-motivated; and
  • Dependability is a must.
