The PCAOB oversees the audits of public companies and SEC-registered brokers and dealers in order to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.
Job Description
The office of PCAOB Board Member James G. Kaiser has a full-time (40 hrs/week) internship position available in its Washington, DC headquarters office for summer 2019. This key role provides support to Board Member Kaiser and his professional staff by conducting
auditing research and providing other duties and special projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and prepare memoranda on topics such as quality controls, the use of emerging technology to prepare or audit financial statements, auditing for the accounting treatment of cryptocurrencies, and understanding range of PCAOB stakeholders;
- Stay informed of trends and current events relating to auditing policy and standards;
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality with respect to all matters and documents;
- Assist with research and the development of speech topics;
- Ensure a high level of accuracy in all details; and
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements |
Qualifications
- Rising junior or senior undergraduate student or graduate student pursuing a degree in accounting from an accredited university or college;
- Proficiency in conducting research;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Proficient with Microsoft software applications;
- Ability to organize and meet deadlines;
- Willingness to work as a team member; and
- Ability to be flexible, work independently and be self-motivated.
