Job Description

The PCAOB has a full-time, regular position for an Analyst, Funding Operations in the Office of Finance at its Washington, DC headquarters office reporting to the Manager, Funding Operations. The primary responsibilities include supporting the various processes required to prepare for, assess, and collect the issuer and broker-dealer accounting support fees and registrant annual fees (collectively, “the fees”) timely and accurately each year in coordination with other Funding Operations team members. This position requires a proactive person who thrives in a multi-faceted, professional environment and works professionally with others.

As an analyst on the Funding Operations team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to improving the processes and systems of the PCAOB’s Funding Operations, work closely with several divisions/offices within the PCAOB on a variety of topics, further the PCAOB’s business intelligence capabilities, and expand your data analytics skills. The Funding Operations team offers continuous training and professional development to grow your knowledge and broaden your skill set.


  • Obtain an understanding of business rules and their proper application for assessment and collection of the fees.
  • Review and analyze company information using internal data and publicly available sources and document research findings.
  • Assist with training individuals and serve as a resource during the research processes.
  • Collaborate with the Funding Operations and Information Technology team members to collect, analyze, and implement end-user requirements.
  • Identify and analyze potential data providers and coordinate with existing and potential data providers and other groups in the PCAOB who use similar data.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and/or monthly analysis of data sets and system loading results to verify the completeness and accuracy of the data and to identify relevant trends and patterns.
  • Assist with developing criteria for implementation of business rules and other logic to support the funding function and suggest improvements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties involved in the funding processes.
  • Respond to daily phone, email, and mail communication from invoiced entities, ensuring that responses are handled in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor progress of collection of the fees and contact invoiced entities regarding any billing or payment issues.
  • Capture all relevant information regarding external parties in the funding correspondence database.
  • Update, analyze, and provide reports, documentation, and other materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field required.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of analytical or quantitative experience in a professional atmosphere.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting data analysis and process improvement activities.
  • Prior exposure to any analytics software (e.g., SAS, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize, plan, and execute detail-oriented work to meet quality and timeline requirements.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook applications.
  • Availability to work non-standard hours and overtime, as needed.
