Opportunity to Join Our Growing Tax Department
GID and its ownership are comprised of a wide variety of taxpayers including partnerships, limited liability companies, complex joint ventures, real estate investment trusts, S corporations, individuals and trusts. The Tax Department is responsible for all aspects of income tax compliance including the preparation and filing of all applicable federal, state, and local income tax returns. We are looking for a Tax Paraprofessional to join our growing tax team. This unique opportunity will include a blend of professional tax preparation and team support responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Professional Responsibilities:
• Prepare or assist in preparation of selected quarterly and annual federal and state income tax filings for corporations, partnerships, individuals and trusts.
• Efiling or mailing of tax returns: coordinate officer signatures, copy, assemble and mail tax returns, follow up with efiling acceptance status, prepare final electronic files.
• Process incoming source documents and ensure information is being tracked and kept current according to department procedures.
• Maintain accounting records and prepare monthly reconciliations for selected family trusts.
• Respond to W-9 requests.

Team Support Responsibilities:
• Schedule meeting rooms, copy and distribute training materials, maintain inventory of department supplies.
• Manage and maintain off-site storage database and internal storage inventory.
• Perform other administrative tasks and assist with other projects as needed.

Qualifications
• At least an associate’s degree in Accounting with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Professional tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax department is helpful.
• Proficiency in Excel is a must. Experience with Word is desirable.
• Respect for discretion and confidentiality is essential.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to take ownership and accept responsibility of projects.
